The Olive Butler Tray is made entirely of teak. Teak wood contains a lot of oil and also hold it well. This makes teak wood incredibly strong and suitable for outdoor use. You can leave the Olive Butler Tray outside all year round.

The Olive Butler Tray, just like the rest of the Olive series, has been treated with a Teak White Wash. The white soaps (White Washen) of the wood originated from an old phenomenon where the wood was worked with lime. Lime has a disinfecting effect. During this process, the lime penetrates deep into the veins of the wood, which ensures a bleached effect. Nowadays this washing is applied with a special teak white wash. This White Wash protects the wood against stains and dirt and provides the white glow that lingers in the veins.

Maintenance

The Olive Butler Tray is made entirely of teak. The teak of the Olive Butler Tray has been treated with a Teak White Wash. This ensures the bleached effect of the wood. This teak white wash also protects the wood against dirt and stains. Make sure that this layer will overcome in the long run and that the effect is slowly decreasing. That is why we advise the Butler Tray to clean and treat it at least once a year with a Teak White Wash to get the desired effect back.

Teakhout has the property that it eventually ages. The top layer will slowly lose oil when the butler tray will be put into use outside. This does not detract from the quality of the teak. Under this layer you will find the warm color of the teak again.

The teak white wash does not protect the butler tray against the aging process. Do you prefer to keep the warm color of the teak? When you clean the butler tray, first apply a teak protector. This is a colored layer that will protect the wood against the aging process. Then apply the Teak White Wash to maintain the White Wash effect.
